Brianna Monroe is a biomedical animator, illustrator, and interactive developer. She was born outside of Orlando, Florida which is where she began her love of wildlife and art. During her brother’s baseball games she would always be sitting on a blanket either drawing or catching toads and frogs in a water bottle. During middle school her family moved to Ames, Iowa where she would later find out has one of the only undergraduate programs in medical illustration. Brianna received her Bachelor of Arts at Iowa State University in Biological/Pre-medical Illustration (BPMI) with minors in anthropology and biology. In May of 2020, she received her Master of Science from the Biomedical Visualization (BVIS) program at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Brianna currently works as a senior medical illustrator/animator at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She specializes in animation, illustration, and molecular visualization and uses her passion to communicate science through art. During her free time she enjoys reading, sewing, spending time with friends and family, trying new foods, exploring museums/zoos, and traveling.
